Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (or ground beef)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms (fresh)
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 - bay leaf
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup basil pesto (jarred or homemade)
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
How To Make slow cooker spaghetti sauce

Step 1In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground turkey and drain well. Transfer to slow cooker. In same pan, add oil and saute onion and mushrooms until onions are softened and mushrooms have started to give up their liquid. Transfer to slow cooker with meat.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Step 3Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Step 4Serve over your favorite cooked pasta and sprinkle with grated parmesan, if desired.
