sauce essentials: lemon buttermilk dipping sauce
This is one of my favorite recipes for serving with breaded chicken tenders, or breaded fish. It has a tang that hits your taste buds like a hammer… It is’s very easy to assemble, and if you can let it sit in the fridge overnight, you won’t be disappointed. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh buttermilk
- 1/2 cup fresh mayonnaise
- 1 large lemon, both the zest and the juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, freshly ground
- - salt, kosher variety, to taste

Step 3Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl.

Step 4Use a whisk to thoroughly combine the ingredients.

Step 5Chef’s Note: At this time, add a bit of salt, to taste.

Step 6Place into a tightly-sealed, non-reactive container, and stick into the fridge overnight. Assuming you can wait that long.

Step 7Chef’s Note: After an evening in the fridge, it will thicken up a bit, and make for a perfect sauce for dipping.
