olive oil
1/2 medium
yellow onion, minced
1/2 medium
green bell pepper, minced
3 clove
garlic, peeled and minced
1 1/2 c
8 oz
tomato paste (not sauce)
1/2 Tbsp
dried basil
1/2 Tbsp
dried oregano
1 Tbsp
dried parsley
salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make Red Garlic Pizza Sauce


  • 1Heat oil in a deep, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and green pepper; cook and stir for about 5 minutes.
  • 2Add the garlic and continue to cook, stirring, until the vegetables are tender. Add the water and stir in the tomato paste.
  • 3Add dried herbs and lower heat. Let simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and continue simmering for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is desired thickness.
