Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 8 ounces tomato paste (not sauce)
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • - salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make red garlic pizza sauce

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a deep, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and green pepper; cook and stir for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add the garlic and continue to cook, stirring, until the vegetables are tender. Add the water and stir in the tomato paste.
  • Step 3
    Add dried herbs and lower heat. Let simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and continue simmering for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is desired thickness.
