Red Garlic Pizza Sauce
3 Tbspolive oil
1/2 mediumyellow onion, minced
1/2 mediumgreen bell pepper, minced
3 clovegarlic, peeled and minced
1 1/2 cwater
8 oztomato paste (not sauce)
1/2 Tbspdried basil
1/2 Tbspdried oregano
1 Tbspdried parsley
·salt and pepper, to taste
How to Make Red Garlic Pizza Sauce
- Heat oil in a deep, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and green pepper; cook and stir for about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and continue to cook, stirring, until the vegetables are tender. Add the water and stir in the tomato paste.
- Add dried herbs and lower heat. Let simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and continue simmering for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is desired thickness.
