packed fresh basil leaves
3/4 c
extra-virgin olive oil
1 c
fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 c
pine nuts
10-12 clove
1 1/2 tsp
1/2 c
freshly grated parmesan cheese
dried crushed red pepper flakes

How to Make Pesto alla Genovese


  • 1Wash and dry fresh basil and parsley.
  • 2Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add basil leaves, and process until finely chopped. Add parsley and pine nuts, garlic cloves, salt and drizzle about 1/2 the oil. Process until smooth, adding more oil to make a creamy smooth pesto.
  • 3Stir in cheese. Serve over pasta.
