Quick and easy adornment for pasta!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
  • 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 10-12 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • - dried crushed red pepper flakes

How To Make pesto alla genovese

  • Step 1
    Wash and dry fresh basil and parsley.
  • Step 2
    Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add basil leaves, and process until finely chopped. Add parsley and pine nuts, garlic cloves, salt and drizzle about 1/2 the oil. Process until smooth, adding more oil to make a creamy smooth pesto.
  • Step 3
    Stir in cheese. Serve over pasta.
