This lovely sauce is very versatile. Serve it with your favorite meat or vegetable.

  • ·
    4 tbsp butter
  • ·
    6 tbsp flour, (white, whole wheat)
  • ·
    1 1/2 cups milk, whole
  • ·
    1/2 cup cream
  • ·
    1/2 - tsp salt, sea, fine (or to taste)
  • ·
    1/4 tsp pepper, fresh ground, white
  • ·
    4 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • ·
    1/4 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated

How to Make Parsley Sauce


  1. In a pan, melt the butter and add the flour while you are stirring.

    Cook for a few seconds then gradually add the milk, a little at a time, stirring constantly until the sauce is to your desired preference. (thick or thin)

    Add the salt, pepper, parsley and nutmeg now and taste, adjusting seasonings if necessary.
