This lovely sauce is very versatile. Serve it with your favorite meat or vegetable.

Ingredients

  • - 4 tbsp butter
  • - 6 tbsp flour, (white, whole wheat)
  • - 1 1/2 cups milk, whole
  • - 1/2 cup cream
  • - 1/2 - tsp salt, sea, fine (or to taste)
  • - 1/4 tsp pepper, fresh ground, white
  • - 4 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • - 1/4 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated

How To Make parsley sauce

  • Step 1
    In a pan, melt the butter and add the flour while you are stirring. Cook for a few seconds then gradually add the milk, a little at a time, stirring constantly until the sauce is to your desired preference. (thick or thin) Add the salt, pepper, parsley and nutmeg now and taste, adjusting seasonings if necessary.
