Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sauterne or other sweet white wine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

How To Make mushroom-onion sauce

  • Step 1
    Saute mushrooms in melted butter in a large skillet until tender.
  • Step 2
    Add the broth, onions, and salt; stir well. Bring to a boil.
  • Step 3
    Combine the wine and cornstarch; stir well. Gradually add the wine mixture to the mushroom mixture, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 1 minute or until thickened and bubbly.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm over grilled steaks or hamburgers.
