Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce, plain variety
  • 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dehydrated onions, finely ground
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar, granulated variety
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper

    You will need a saucepan, and a non-reactive jar to store the sauce in.

    Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

    Add the tomato sauce, water, and vinegar to a small saucepan over medium heat, and bring up to a simmer.

    Place the dry ingredients into a spice blender, and blend until finely ground.
