I found this in an old cook book, and I haven't tried it yet. Donalee loved marshmallows and I'm always looking for recipes she would have enjoyed.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound marshmallows
  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

How To Make marshmallow filling

  • Step 1
    Boil sugar and water until it spins a thread. Cut up marshmallows and pour boiling water over them to steam. When sugar is done, pour gradually over the egg whites which have been beaten stiff, then add marshmallows; beat until creamy and spread on cake layers.
