low salt taco seasoning

This taco seasoning is very good ~ tastes just like the stuff you buy in the store but you can make it yourself. One note: I usually use a bit less chili powder than it calls for because we like a milder flavor. Making it as is will result in a seasoning that has a bit of bite to it. So just alter for your taste. I haven't purchased any taco seasoning since I found this recipe. Hope you like it as much as we do!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried garlic flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

How To Make low salt taco seasoning

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients in a zip lock bag and shake until completely mixed.
  • Step 2
    Add to browned ground beef along with 1/2 - 3/4 C. water and cook until reduced to desired consistency.
