- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
How To Make homemade sour cream

Step 1Combine whipping cream and buttermilk in a sterilized mason jar. Stir well. Cover loosely. Let stand at room temperature until cream becomes thick, approximately 24-48 hours. Stir well. Store in refrigerator.

Step 2If you don't have buttermilk on hand you can make your own by adding a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to regular milk.
