For best results, use fresh ingredients for this recipe. It can be stored on the counter or in the fridge. Habaneros peppers are 100 X hotter than a halapeno. So make sure that when you are dicing the habaneros (also known as scotch bonnets), that you wear a pair of gloves, the oils from the habanero can and will burn your skin! Do not touch your eyes.

Ingredients For habanero condiment

  • 1 large onion, sweet, white, finely diced
  • 2 1/4 cups vinegar, white, regular
  • 3 large, ripe, colorful habaneros, finely minced
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

How To Make habanero condiment

    Pick a glass jar with a seal.

    Fill it half way with the onion, habanero, vinegar and salt.
  • 3
    Serve it with anything you want to add a bit of heat too, perfect with fried fish, rice or vegetables.
