fresh basil pesto

I grow alot of basil in my garden and I had too much, so I decided to make some pesto. I didn't want it to go to waste! I like to put it over Angel Hair pasta because it is a nice, light sauce.I always thought you should never put a heavy sauce over small pasta. My family loves it!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups tightly packed basil
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 tablespoons pinenuts
  • 2 - garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup parmesan reggiano cheese- grated
  • 1/3 cup pecorino cheese - grated
  • 3 tablespoons butter at room temperature

    Just mix it all together in a blender or food processor and Viola! You have the best tasting Pesto sauce for your Pasta!
