I owe this one to my good friend Thea Pappalardo. She gave me this recipe last year, and it is my go to for my brisket and steaks. I have the recipe with a magnet on my fridge and keep some made up all the time for when we smoke or grill.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon cayenne powder
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons ground dry mustard,
- 2 teaspoons granulated garlic powder

Step 1Combine all in a bowl.

Step 2I keep mine unrefrigerated in an air tight container in my cupboard.

Step 3To use, just scatter all over the surface of the meat you are smoking or grilling, rub into the meat, and grill or smoke as desired
