Ingredients

  • 2 pounds yellow pear tomatoes
  • 1 medium lemon chopped
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cloves

How To Make yellow pear tomato preserves

  • Step 1
    Wash and dry tomatoes.
  • Step 2
    Cut a thin slice at blossom end, press out seeds discard.
  • Step 3
    Combine tomatoes, sugar, salt and simmer until sugar dissolves.
  • Step 4
    Boil about 40 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Add thinly sliced lemon and minced ginger root.
  • Step 6
    Boil 10 minutes longer.
  • Step 7
    Pour into hot jars and seal. Water bath for 10 minutes.
