Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram fruit of your choice
  • 1 kilogram sugar

How To Make jam

  • Step 1
    Cut the fruit in small pieces and place it in a pot.
  • Step 2
    Cook on the stove, on low fire. Stir very often so that the fruit doesn’t burn.
  • Step 3
    As soon as some juice collects on the bottom of the pot, add sugar and stir until it is no longer visible.
  • Step 4
    Keep the pot on low fire, stirring often and in particular the bottom, which will otherwise burn very easily.
  • Step 5
    Jam must boil for at least 2 hours and 30 minutes. This is necessary to inactivate botulinum spores that may be present in the fruit, which could otherwise produce deadly toxins.
  • Step 6
    Pour boiling-hot jam in glass jars and close them immediately. The jars will go vacuum in a few minutes: you can then store your jam for many months.
