blueberry chia jam (sugar free)

Froze my delicious blueberries I got from the market this summer. I was saving for the perfect recipe. Following a low sugar diet, I decided to make Chia jam. Now I know most add lemon to blueberry recipes but I choose to use orange. I feel it gives a better flavor. Try it out I think you’ll agree. Loaded with an Omega threes and vitamins, I think I chose the perfect recipe for my perfect blueberries.

Ingredients For blueberry chia jam (sugar free)

  • 2 c
    blueberries, frozen fresh
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2
    juice of orange plus zest
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    sugar free maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 4 Tbsp
    chia seeds

How To Make blueberry chia jam (sugar free)

    Add blueberrie To a medium pot on the stove, cook on medium heat,

    Add water, Bring to a simmer and start mashing with potato masher or fork to a consistency of Liking. Now add juice, zest,sweetener then chia seeds. Stir well.

    Turn off heat, stir and transfer to a pint size, mason, jar, or glass jars of choice.

    Let cool and store in the refrigerator for at least four hours. I store Overnight. Keeps well in refrigerator for month Enjoy on toast, pastries, smoothies and yogurt parfaits.
