This is a basic white sauce that I use with tuna or salmon. you can add cheese for a cheese sauce on vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margerine
  • VARIATIONS ON SAUCE-CHEESE
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese or american cheese

How To Make white sauce

  • Step 1
    mix all ingredients in saucepan. heat to boiling over medium heat.
  • Step 2
    stir constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  • Step 3
    For cheese sauce just add dry mustard and cheese
