1Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk to combine.
2Slowly add milk and continue to whisk until mixture comes to to a boil. Add nutmeg and salt to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently. Cook about 15 minutes.
3Check seasoning. Serve or use as a base for other sauces.
