Some time it pays to just sit down and look through your recipe box. I forgot that I had this recipe. It's must have been in this box for years. I remember it being so refreshing and a low calorie alternative to maple syrup. This is great on pancakes and waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/3 cup juice
  • 1 teaspoon butter

How To Make norma's breakfast orange sauce

  • Step 1
    Combine the sugar, cornstarch and orange peel in a small sauce pan and stir in orange juice unti smooth.
  • Step 2
    Place pan on medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes or until thickened to a syrup consistency.
  • Step 3
    Remove pan from heat and whisk in butter.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm over pancakes or waffles.
