allspice

ginger

nutmeg
1/2 tsp
cloves
1 pinch
sea salt
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
1 Tbsp
vanilla
water to cover

How to Make "Mediterranean Fruit" Spiced Applesauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place all ingredients in a large, heavy bottom sauce pan with a lid.
  • 2Bring to a boil and stir, then reduce heat to low/medium and cover.
  • 3Cook for an hour, stirring occasionally. When most of the water has cooked away, choose whether you want chunky or smooth applesauce.
  • 4Chunky, mash with a potato masher. Smooth, put in a food processor.
  • 5May be served hot or chilled. Store in mason jars.
