- 3 - large red apples, cut into pieces
- 3 - tart green apples, cut into pieces
- 5 - red pears, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup dates, chopped
- 1/2 cup apricots, chopped
- 1/2 cup figs, chopped
- 1/4 cup sultanas (golden raisin), chopped
- 1/4 cup cranberries
- 1/2 - persian lime (squeeze in juice), optionally zest too
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- - water to cover
How To Make "mediterranean fruit" spiced applesauce

Step 1Place all ingredients in a large, heavy bottom sauce pan with a lid.

Step 2Bring to a boil and stir, then reduce heat to low/medium and cover.

Step 3Cook for an hour, stirring occasionally. When most of the water has cooked away, choose whether you want chunky or smooth applesauce.

Step 4Chunky, mash with a potato masher. Smooth, put in a food processor.

Step 5May be served hot or chilled. Store in mason jars.
