This is one of my grandfather's recipes.... Very easy & extremely yummy! GREAT GIFT GIVER -- place in mason jar.

Ingredients

  • 10 pounds mcintosh apples
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How To Make homemade chunky applesauce

  • Step 1
    Wash apples thoroughly. Core apples or cut into large chunks. Place the cut apples, skins and all into a large heavy pot.
  • Step 2
    Over low heat, slowly heat apples, stirring often, until steam is visible from the pot. Raise the heat & cook the apples for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
    Add the maple syrup, honey & cinnamon; stir to combine.
  • Step 4
    Simmer "uncovered" for at least 2 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent scalding on the bottom of the pot.
  • Step 5
    Store in a seal tight container & refrigerate...
