Fruit Essentials: Raspberry Jalapeno Fruit Spread

Andy Anderson !

This is an easy/peasy recipe to make and will live in the fridge for up to a year. Although I doubt it will last that long.

Easy to make with a minimum of ingredients, and tastes awesome… Oh, and by the way, it only takes about 30 minutes to makes.

Use this as a base, vary the fruits… Have fun with it. As a matter of fact, if you do not want the heat, leave the peppers out.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How to Make Fruit Essentials: Raspberry Jalapeno Fruit Spread

  2. You will need a medium size saucepan to make this recipe.
  3. Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  4. Crush the berries, add them to a saucepan over medium-high heat, and then add all the ingredients; except the pectin.
  5. Bring to a rolling boil, while constantly stirring, about 4 – 5 minutes.
  6. Because you are making a fruit spread, the best tool to use here is a wooden spoon.
  7. Stir in the pectin, and boil for an additional minute.
  8. Remove from the heat and skim off any foam that sits on top.
  9. Add to jars and allow to completely cool before placing into the refrigerator.
  11. Use it in any way you would use a good fruit spread. I like it on toast with a bit of butter. Enjoy.
  12. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
