cinnamon applesauce

I love fall, and the bounty of the harvest. I'm on a mission to take advantage of every bit of fruit and vegetable I can. I combed the internet looking at various recipes for applesauce before making up my own. And a bonus is it makes the house smell wonderful!

Ingredients

  • box granny smaith apples about 1/4 peck
  • box fugi apples about 1/4 peck
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon, ground

How To Make cinnamon applesauce

  • Step 1
    peel, core and chop apples into even pieces, the smaller you make them now the less mashing you have to do later
  • Step 2
    rinse apples
  • Step 3
    put everything into a large pot and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer, stirring often until apples are mashed up pretty well.
  • Step 4
    let apple mixture cool them mash more if you like but they can be eaten at any stage of the process.
  • Step 5
    be sure to watch the apples and stir often especially as the apples soften or they will stick down
