blueberry sauce for ice cream...(can use other fruits)

This is a great sauce to serve over Ice Cream, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, muffins or even garnish a pound cake (or angel food cake).

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, divided (or splenda)
  • - juice from 1/2 a lemon

How To Make blueberry sauce for ice cream...(can use other fruits)

  • Step 1
    Place blueberries in a small saucepan with 1 Tablespoon of sugar and cook over low heat. Stir the sugar and mash some of the blueberries with the back of a fork.
  • Step 2
    Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Next stir in the juice from half of a lemon and add the additional 1/2 Tablespoon of sugar.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat and let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving over vanilla ice cream.
  • Step 4
    P.S. You can make this with any berries you like, does not have to be blueberries.
