Mom used to make this with a box of frozen sliced strawberries but I prefer fresh. It is very versatile and can be used to top cake, ice cream, pudding, yogurt, in parfaits, etc.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces can crushed pineapple in juice, drained (reserve juice)
- 2 tablespoons reserved pineapple juice
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar (if needed for berries or use equivalent artificial sweetener)
- 2 medium bananas, peeled and diced
How To Make banana split topping

Step 1Drain pineapple, reserving 2 tablespoons juice.

Step 2Slice strawberries and add sugar or artificial sweetener if needed.

Step 3Combine berries, bananas, pineapple and juice and mix well.

Step 4Use as a topping over ice cream, pound cake, angel food cake, pudding, yogurt, in parfaits, etc. May also add a little chocolate sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry for a full banana split experience.
