Using spices are a great way to spice up any burger! Instead of plain ketchup, try this spicy ketchup that is a sweet, smokey and spicy way to give any burger a kick. This one tops a meatless patty with tomatoes, lettuce, onion and shredded cheese. Grill up some zucchini spears or make some baked or grilled potatoes. Without telling you, how would you know it was good for you?

Ingredients

  • 1 - boca or meatless patty (frozen works better for grilling when using boca)
  • 2 dashes dry steak seasoning
  • KETCHUP
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon chipolte powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin
  • TOPPINGS
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheese- your choice
  • 3 - cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 1 - onion round
  • 1 - lettuce leaf
  • 1 - hamburger bun

How To Make spicy american meatless burger

  • Step 1
    Place one dash per side of dry steak seasoning on burger. Gently press it or rub it in.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, combine ingredients for ketchup mixture and set aside. Cook burger according to directions. Burgers stay together better when grilling them outdoors if you put them on the grill frozen.
  • Step 3
    To assemble place the ketchup mixture on the top bun and place the shredded cheese on top of that. This helps the cheese stick together. Place a ring of onion, the tomatoes that have been halved, lettuce and then the burger and bottom bun. Invert and cut in half to enjoy.
