How to Make Roasted Garlic and Its Uses

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut top 1/4 inch off heads of garlic to expose cloves. Place garlic in small baking dish. Add oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper; toss to coat. Turn garlic cut side up. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake until garlic skins are golden brown and cloves are tender, about 55 minutes. Cool. Squeeze garlic cloves from skins.
  2. Uses:
    Mash the garlic into a paste and use it as a condiment on chicken.
    Mash and mix with butter for garlic bread.
    Mash and mix with fried or steamed green beans.
    Mix with olive oil in a dressing bottle for salads.
    Mash and mix with yellow hot dog mustard, spread on a roast of pork before you cook it.

    mashed with oil or butter for vegetables,especially broccoli,artichokes,asparagus
    add to salad dressings
    spaghetti sauce
    mix with cream cheese as a spread for grilled Italian bread
    pasta
    mayonaisse
