janet's picnic coleslaw
Well summer is just about gone we need to have one more cookout. Hamburgers, ribs, baked potatoes, grilled vegetables, and hot dogs with chili. Don't forget that southern sweet iced tea.

Yield 6 - 8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- - dash of pepper
- 1/3 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
- 3 - egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 quarts shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
How To Make janet's picnic coleslaw

Step 1Combine flour, sugar, salt, celery seed, and pepper in a sauce pan. Stir in vinegar gradually.

Step 2Add water, mustard, and onion cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and loses starchy taste.

Step 3Stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks,stir egg yolks into hot mixture.

Step 4Cook stirring constantly for 1 minute longer. Add butter stir until melted.

Step 5Chill thoroughly. Fold in sour cream. Combine cabbage and carrot.

Step 6Pour on sour cream dressing toss lightly to blend. Yield 6-8 servings
