Another great mix! I'm lovin' my collection of awesome mixes; and my kids are excited too, to have them! This is really good the way it is written, but it is also good if you want to use buttermilk instead of mayo and sour cream (I've tried it both ways). It's not only great on salads, but to use for recipes that call for ranch salad dressing mix.You can use the powdered buttermilk (enough for 1 1/2 cups) instead of the mayo and sour cream, and just add the 1 1/2 cups of water to the mix. Very tricky! A great deal more healthy than a purchased mix, and tastier too, not to mention $ savings!

Ingredients For homemade ranch dressing mix
- FOR THE DRESSING MIX:

1 tspdried parsley

1 tspbasil

1 tspdill

1 tspchives

1 tspgarlic powder ( not salt)

1 tsponion powder (not salt)

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tsppepper
- TO MAKE THE MIX:

1 1/2 cwater, plus whatever amt of buttermilk mix you need to make this much buttermilk or

1 cmayonaise (i use homemade, like hellman's or best foods)

1/2 csour cream or greek yogurt

1jalapeno, chopped (optional)

1To clarify if I may. As I stated above, you can include the amount of buttermilk mix it takes to make up 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk in the mix, then when making up the mix, just add 1 1/2 cups of water instead of the mayo and the sour cream or yogurt. You don't want to use both the buttermilk, the mayo, and the sour cream or yogurt!

2Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed well. For a spicy jalapeno ranch, add the chopped jalapeno and blend. Store in a glass jar in the fridge until ready to use. Sorry that I don't have pic yet!
