I got this recipe from my mom. It is much better than any bottled dressing and cheaper too.

Ingredients

  • MAKES 2 1/2 CUPS
  • 1 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 - juice from 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sherry vinegar

How To Make classic vinagrette

  • Step 1
    If you don't have one or either vinegar listed above, any mild white vinegar will work, ½-cup total.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together all ingredients; or you can also put the lid on the container and shake; or use an immersion blender
  • Step 3
    Store in a screw top jar or sealed top container and shake well before use.
