This is an old vintage recipe that my mom used to serve at parties. Prep time does not include the 8 hours of chilling time.

  • 1 c
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1/4 c
    chili sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tsp
    curry powder
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1
    red cabbage

How to Make Veggie Dip


  1. Combine the first 11 ingredients in a bowl; stir well. Chill at least 8 hours.
  2. Trim the core end of the cabbage to form a flat base. Fold back several outer leaves of the cabbage. Cut a crosswise slice from the top of the cabbage, removing about 1/4 of the head. Lift out the inner leaves of the cabbage to form a shell about 1 inch thick (reserve sice and inner leaves for another use).
  3. Spoon the dip into the cabbage. Serve with fresh vegetables.
