Makes a very festive-looking and tasty centerpiece for an appetizer tray

envelope (1/4 oz) unflavored gelatin
3/4 c
milk, divided (1/2 c and 1/4 c)
3 oz
cream cheese, softened
1/2 c
grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c
pepper jack cheese, grated
1/4 c
finely chopped red onion
4 oz
diced green chilies
4 oz
chopped black olives
2 Tbsp
chopped cilantro (or parsley, if you wish)
1 1/2 Tbsp
lime juice
1 clove
garlic, minced or pressed
2 tsp
ground cumin (optional)
1/2 tsp

How to Make Tex Mex Party Mold


  • 1In large bowl, sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup milk. Let stand one minute
  • 2Scald remaining 1/2 cup milk. Stir into gelatin mixture, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  • 3Beat in cream cheese until smooth
  • 4Stir in sour cream and remaining ingredients
  • 5Chill 4 hours or until firm
  • 6To unmold, dip bottom of mold in hot water for a few seconds. Invert onto platter
