taco dip/salad

I've been making this for just over 20 years; I'm always asked for the recipe :-) Use this a a dip with wavy potato chips or tortilla chips; or fill a taco shell, or just pile on a plate and go at it!! *I only use Old EL Paso Original Taco Seasoning Mix, I've tried other brands and people knew "something wasn't right", so I stick with that brand. **I also only use Old EL Paso Refried Beans for the same reason as the taco seasoning mix.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 16 oz. can of old el paso refried beans**
  • 1 - 8 oz. container sour cream
  • 1 - 1 oz. pack of old el paso original taco seasoning mix*
  • 1 - 2.25 oz. can sliced black olives
  • 1 - medium tomato-diced
  • 1 - 8 oz. bag of shredded cheddar cheese
  • - shredded lettuce-to your liking

How To Make taco dip/salad

  • Step 1
    Spread the can of refried beans on bottom of platter/container of your choice
  • Step 2
    Mix 8 oz. sour cream and 1 oz. pack of taco seasoning mix together in a small bowl and spread over the refried beans
  • Step 3
    Add shredded lettuce (to your liking), then add shredded cheese (i add almost the whole bag,I leave some to top on the finished dip)
  • Step 4
    Add the diced tomato
  • Step 5
    Add the sliced black olives
  • Step 6
    Top with the rest of the cheese
  • Step 7
    Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving
