sweet chili sauce
This sauce is really easy to make yourself! I love having control of the amount of heat and knowledge of exactly what’s in it! I was making homemade egg rolls and whipped this up in just a few minutes! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

- 1 - hot & sweet chili
- 2-3 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- few dash cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1/4 cup additional water
How To Make sweet chili sauce
-
Step 1Mince garlic and hot & sweet chili (or spicy chili of your choice) set aside
-
Step 2Use the additional 1/4 cup cold water and mix with corn starch to create a smooth slurry.
-
Step 3Heat water, rice vinegar, and sugar bringing mixture to a boil. Stir to dissolve sugar.
-
Step 4Add minced garlic and chilies, along with red pepper flakes and cayenne.
-
Step 5Reduce heat to a simmer and stir for 3-4 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.
-
Step 6Stir in cornstarch and continue simmering for an additional 1-2 minutes until desired thickening is achieved.
-
Step 7Remove from heat. Sauce will thicken slightly more as it cools. Add small amount of water if needed to thin it back down.
-
Step 8Serve and enjoy! Refrigerate or preserve in jars if you’re making the sauce ahead of time.
