italian dipping sauce for bread (we call it italian butter)

I first tried this with the wonderful open hearth baked bread at Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant. I fell in love with it then and there. I make it at home every time we bring home a good loaf of bread. Dip and Enjoy! This is a net pic. I will add one next time I make it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2-3 tablespoons good balsamic vinegar, more or less to desired taste.
  • 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese, more if desired
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • YOU CAN ADD ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS, IF DESIRED TO TASTE
  • - chopped sun dried tomatoes
  • - chopped fresh or dried basil or a spoon of pesto
  • - roasted garlic cloves or raw if desired

How To Make italian dipping sauce for bread (we call it italian butter)

  • Step 1
    Pour Olive oil on dinner plate. Add balsamic, pepper and parmesan cheese. Stir all together, taste and adjust flavors as desired. Serve with good crusty Italian or sourdough bread. Dip & Enjoy!
