dip essentials: hot cream cheese & blue cheese dip

This is a wonderful dip for veggies, crackers, and especially some good chicken wings. If you are into football parties or tailgating, this recipe should be on your rotation. I serve this to my writing club, and no matter how much I make, it’s always gone by the end of the evening. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, baked
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt, kosher variety, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons heavy or whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, or vegeanaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (i like frank’s)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • - black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 2 ounces blue cheese, crumbled, or you could use goat cheese

    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
    Gather Your Ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Add all the ingredients, except the blue cheese (or goat cheese) to the bowl of a food processor.
  • Step 4

    Process until completely smooth.
  • Step 6
    Add the contents of the food processor to a small pan over medium-low heat.
  • Step 7
    Slowly bring up to a simmer, and then fold in the blue cheese (or goat cheese).

    Chef's Note: Do a final testing for seasoning (hot sauce, salt, pepper).

    PLATE/PRESENT
  • Step 10
    Add to a bowl and serve with some nice chicken wings, celery, or whatever else you choose to dip. Enjoy.
