chipotle ketchup
Here's one you'll make all summer long! It's great on hot dogs, burgers,for dipping potato wedges, or whatever else you'd use ketchup for. We love it on meatloaf. I've been a member here for a while, but this is the first recipe I've posted(finally!)

Ingredients
- 2 (16oz) cans tomato puree (or 2 cups fresh tomato puree)
- 1 large onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 - chipotle pepper, chopped (from a can of chipotles in adobo)
- 1 - 2 tablespoons adobo sauce (from the can of chipotles in adobo)
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (fresh ground preferably)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
How To Make chipotle ketchup

Step 1Cook onions, over medium heat until translucent.

Step 2Add the pureed tomatoes to the onions and mix in; add all the remaining ingredients, except the lime juice.

Step 3Simmer uncovered, stirring frequently, until thick, about 1 hour.

Step 4Remove from heat and let the mixture cool down a little before adding it to a blender.

Step 5Add the lime juice and puree.
