Ingredients

  • 1 can 9 1/4 oz. tuna, packed in water, drained and flaked
  • 1 large apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/3 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup raisins, currants or pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup plain nonfat or lowfat yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese (2 oz)
  • - large lettuce leaves

How To Make crunchy waldorf salad with tuna

  • Step 1
    In a medium bowl combine tuna, apple, celery, walnuts and raisins; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl combine yogurt and mayonnaise. Then add to the tuna bowl; toss gently. Add seasonings of your choice (optional) Cover and chill before serving.
  • Step 3
    To serve: line 4 salad plates with lettuce leaves. Sprinkle cheese over lettuce. Spoon tuna mixture on top of cheese.
