Ingredients For crunchy waldorf salad with tuna

  • 1 can
    9 1/4 oz. tuna, packed in water, drained and flaked
  • 1 lg
    apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/3 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 c
    raisins, currants or pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    plain nonfat or lowfat yogurt
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese (2 oz)
  • large lettuce leaves

How To Make crunchy waldorf salad with tuna

    In a medium bowl combine tuna, apple, celery, walnuts and raisins; set aside.

    In a small bowl combine yogurt and mayonnaise. Then add to the tuna bowl; toss gently. Add seasonings of your choice (optional) Cover and chill before serving.

    To serve: line 4 salad plates with lettuce leaves. Sprinkle cheese over lettuce. Spoon tuna mixture on top of cheese.
