My Mom taught me to make this simple, delicious salad many years ago. It has been our family favorite for 3 generations now. Every time I share it at a cook out, someone always ask for the recipe. I have been told the secret is in the dressing, I'm not sure. So I thought I would share it here! I sometimes change it up and add a small can of drained, flaked, tuna! Yum! Hope you will enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • - 1 cup peeled, chopped, tomatoes
  • - 1/2 cup sliced thin green onions
  • - 10 oz uncooked macaroni, cooked firm
  • DRESSING FOR SALAD
  • - 16 oz miracle whip
  • - 2 tsp salt
  • - 1/2 tsp pepper (or to taste)
  • - 2 tsp celery salt
  • - 2 tablespoons of sugar

How To Make macaroni salad

  • Step 1
    Boil macaroni till firm. Drain. Peel, chop tomatoes. Chop green onions on the diagonal (just makes it pretty). Place all in bowl.
  • Step 2
    Mix all salad dressing ingredients together well. Pour over macaroni, tomatoes and green onions, mix thoroughly. Chill for a couple hours or overnight.
  • Step 3
    If adding the tuna, add it with the salad dressing step.
