Ingredients
- 1 medium cabbage, shredded
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup sugar (1 of 2)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (2 of 2)
- 3/4 cup vinegar
- 3/4 cup salad oil
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
How To Make german ice box slaw

Step 1Alternate layers of cabbage and onions in a salad bowl. Sprinkle with sugar.

Step 2In a saucepan, combine vinegar, oil, mustard, 1 teaspoon sugar and salt. Heat to boiling.

Step 3Pour over slaw and refridgerate for at least 4 hours. Keeps for a week or more. You may add more cabbage as necessary.
