taco salad with doritos nacho chips
We love this version of taco salad with Doritos chips crumbled on top. I've had this recipe for over 20 years and it's perfect on a hot summer day. The dressing is very easy to make and yummy too!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- - sprinkle of dried onion if desired
- - carrots, sliced thin on diagonal
- - shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can sliced olives, drained
- 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained (small can if you can find it)
- - chopped lettuce
- - other salad fixings as you desire, celery, tomatoes, green onion, etc.
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- 1/4 cup salsa, mild
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 package doritos nacho cheese chips
How To Make taco salad with doritos nacho chips

Step 1Cook ground beef. Drain fat. Add 1/4 envelope of the taco season mix, cook per package directions. After cooking set aside and allow to cool a little.

Step 2Assemble your salad with lettuce and veggies as desired.

Step 3Add black olives, and kidney beans, drained. Toss gently.

Step 4Place salad dressing ingredients in a jar with a good screw on cap so you can shake it up well. See bottom of ingredients list - Starting with salsa through cider vinegar - place in jar and shake it up.

Step 5Assemble salad with hamburger on top. Set cheddar cheese on the side. Place salad on plates or bowls then add cheddar cheese. (I don't like it in my left over salad, it gets too yucky). Crumble Doritos chips over the top of it all, and pour on the dressing.
