irene's vegetable and macaroni salad

This came from a dear friend (who is no longer with us) many years ago. This makes enough to share and I never had a problem with having people to share it with. All who have tried it have loved it, even kids who didn't like onions :)

Ingredients
- 1 pound elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
- 4 - carrots, shredded
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
How To Make irene's vegetable and macaroni salad

Step 1Cook macaroni until barely tender. Drain and rinse with cold water. Put in large bowl and set aside.

Step 2Add the vegetables to the macaroni and mix well.

Step 3Combine condensed milk, vinegar, sugar, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.Mix well. Add to the macaroni mixture and combine thoroughly.

Step 4Chill at least 4 hours before serving.
