  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 - clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups halved pear tomatoes
  • 4 - medium tomatoes,cut into 1/2-inch wedges
  • 6 - large fresh basil leaves,cut into slender ribbons

How To Make tomato basil salad

  • Step 1
    For the vinaigrette,whisk together the vinegar, mustard,garlic,salt,and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Step 2
    Add the oil in a slow stream,whisking until the dressing is emulsified
  • Step 3
    Place tomatoes in a large serving bowl.
  • Step 4
    Pour the vinaigrette over the tomatoes,add the basil, and toss gently to mix well and coat evenly.
  • Step 5
    Let set for 30 minutes before serving.
