garlic rice wine vinegar
lemon, juiced reserved and zested
2 tsp
dijon mustard
ground pepper
1/4 c
olive oil
1 lb
broccoli, rinsed, trimmed, and cut into bite sized pieces
3 medium
3 oz
coarsely chopped pecans
1/4 c
white sugar
1 Tbsp
1 tsp
cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp
basil leaves, chiffonade'd
1/2 c
shredded cheese of choice

How to Make Sweet and Spicy Lemon-Basil Broccoli Salad


  • 1In a skillet, combine 1 tbsp water, sugar, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil and toss nuts in.
  • 2Once coated, place nuts on a baking sheet and bake in a 400 degree oven until caramelized (a few minutes).
  • 3Whisk together the vinegar, zest, lemon juice, mustard, oil, and pepper in a medium mixing mixing bowl.
  • 4Toss broccoli, tomatoes, and cheese together. Fold in dressing and nuts. Chill for a day for best flavor. 1/2 day (3-6hrs) for milder flavor and crunchier veggies.
