A very simple Persian salad that is so refreshing and easy to make.

3 large
firm tomatoes
english or persian cucumbers
1 medium
vidalia or red onion
2 Tbsp
lemon or lime juice, freshly squeezed
2 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
1 Tbsp
fresh mint
1 tsp
fresh garlic, minced
kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

How to Make Salad-e Shirazi


  • 1Dice all vegetable into a small dice. Place into a bowl and add lemon or lime juice, olive oil, fresh herbs and salt and pepper. Toss gently and serve.
  • 2This is a staple in Persian household. I have a friend that hates cucumbers that will eat Sharzi. I sometimes leave the olive oil out and just use the freshly squeezed juice to dress the vegetable.
