Even the grandkids go back for seconds of this sweet and sour cold veggie salad. I have no idea where the original recipe came from; it's been a staple in my family for years.

  • 2 10oz pkg
    frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can(s)
    kidney beans
  • 2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1
    onion, chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 c
    white vinegar

How to Make Mixed Vegetable Salad


  1. cook vegetables according to package directions, drain and cool
  2. heat sugar, flour and vinegar to a boil, remove from heat and cool
  3. wash kidney beans and drain
  4. mix together vegetables, beans, celery and onions
  5. pour vinegar/sugar mixture over vegetables, toss to coat and refrigerate at least one hour before serving
