How to Make Grandmas German Coleslaw (Kohlsalat)
- Remove coarse outer leaves from cabbage and cut head into quarters, Remove the core.
- Shed cabbage finely and wash thoroughly. Set aside, to drain.
- Fry bacon in a large pot, add cabbage and continue to cook another 5 minutes stirring constantly, add water, and cook until cabbage is just tender. Remove from heat.
- Combine salad oil, vinegar, salt and parsley and pour over warm cabbage. Cool before serving.
