Staying inside today too hot to sit on the porch, so started going though some of grandmas recipes, found this one we used to have this with fried catfish.

Ingredients
- 1 medium head white cabbage
- 2 slices bacon (diced)
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons salad oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vinigar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon finly chopped parsley
How To Make grandmas german coleslaw (kohlsalat)

Step 1Remove coarse outer leaves from cabbage and cut head into quarters, Remove the core.

Step 2Shed cabbage finely and wash thoroughly. Set aside, to drain.

Step 3Fry bacon in a large pot, add cabbage and continue to cook another 5 minutes stirring constantly, add water, and cook until cabbage is just tender. Remove from heat.

Step 4Combine salad oil, vinegar, salt and parsley and pour over warm cabbage. Cool before serving.
