3 medium
onions (finely chopped)
1 Tbsp
vinegar
1/2 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
sugar
1 Tbsp

2 tsp
finley chopped herbs (she don't say what but i used parsley and some garlic)

How to Make Grandmas Dandelion Salad ( Lowenzahnsalat)

Step-by-Step

  • 1Remove blossoms from dandelions (save) grandma used the tops to make wine.
  • 2Cut stems and youngest leaves into small pieces and wash.
  • 3Fry bacon and onions, place in salad bowl together with dandelion leaves. (I did not drain all the grease from the bacon and onions left about 1 Tablespoon but did cool it a little before adding it to the dandelion.)
  • 4Combine vinegar, sugar, salt, water and herbs to make a salad dressing. Pour over salad and toss just before serving.
