This lovely recipe is quick and easy to make, tastes amazing and is great eaten at breakfast, lunch or as a snack. Serve with your favorite bread or crackers or add to a simple green salad.

Ingredients For crab salad

  • 8 oz crabmeat, white, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (plain or flavored)
  • 1/4 tsp dijon mustard, coarse seed
  • 1 tbsp shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 small fresh red chili, minced (or to taste)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ground paprika
  • salt, sea, fine (to taste)
  • white pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed (garnish)
  • dill fronds (garnish)

How To Make crab salad

    Into a large bowl add the crabmeat. Set aside until needed. In a small bowl add the mayo, mustard, shallots, garlic, fresh red chili, chives, dill, parsley, paprika, salt, and white pepper, mixing well. Gently mix the mayonnaise mixture into the crab meat. Cover and put into refrigerator to chill.

    Chilling the salad for 30 minutes will bring out all the lovely flavors. When ready to serve, taste and adjust the salt and pepper if necessary. Garnish with a squirt of lemon juice and more fresh dill. Serve with your favorite bread or on top of salad greens for a lovely treat.
