My mother made this when ever the cabbages were in the store. Was so nice to have fresh food on the table. I have been know to add some Crushed Red Pepper about 1/4 teaspoon or more if you like it a little hotter.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds cabbage grated or chopped fine
- 1 - green bell pepper chopped
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup choppd onion
- 1 cup vinegr
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons celery seed
- 1 cup oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
How To Make cabbage salad

Step 1Mix together and let stand the first (4) ingredients while making dressing

Step 2Bring to boil the last (5) ingredients

Step 3Cool and pour over cabbage mixture. This is better if made the day before you want to use it and will keep refrigerated for several days.
